WHAT
IS INTERNET BANDWIDTH: |
|
Bandwidth is the maximum amount of information that can
be passed at any one time.
A standard dial up Internet connection through an ISP
is generally said to be 56kps. In most cases you are lucky
to be connected and downloading at 28kps. When there is
a low amount of users, the ISP connection can speed up.
In layman's terms, its a bit like the M25 Motorway. When
there is little traffic, you can travel happily at 70mph.
When it is rush hour, you may be luck to be doing 30mph.
