WHAT
IS INTERNET BANDWIDTH: |
|
Bandwidth is the maximum amount of information that can
be passed at any one time.
A standard dial up Internet connection through an ISP
is generally said to be 56kps. In most cases you are lucky
to be connected and downloading at 28kps. When there is
a low number of users, the ISP connection can speed up.
In layman's terms, its a bit like the M25 Motorway. When
there is little traffic, you can travel happily at 70mph.
When it is rush hour, you may be lucky to be doing 30mph.
Satellite Broadband is able to burst up to a 2 meg download
on certain services. Compare $ per bandwidth with other
services and you can see the advantages of a Satellite
Broadband Internet connection.
